Lula Belle Stickney was the third of James Franklin and Elvira T. (Perry) Stickney’s ten children, of whom only eight survived to adulthood. Lula was the first to marry and leave the family nucleus in 1892 while they were still living in Jonesboro, Texas. Lula Belle married Joseph “Joe” Henry Sauls, the son of William M. and Elizabeth C.
